“If you're in D.C. and looking for a meal prep service, stop searching! Meal Mate DC is the one. I tried several meal prep and chef services before finding them, and nothing else even comes close. I mean that wholeheartedly. Chef Tim's food is on another level, every single dish has been incredibly flavorful. You can genuinely taste the quality and thought behind each meal. Jamie-Claire is equally amazing. They clearly put so much love and passion into what they do. Beyond the food, they are some of the kindest, most genuine people. Working with Meal Mate DC has honestly been transformational for my busy schedule. If you're in the D.C. area and want chef-quality meals don't go anywhere else.”

We pride ourselves in expansive repertoire and our high variety culinary offerings. In simple language, almost anything.
If we can’t confidently do it, we’ll tell you so. But until then, try us :)

For meal preparations–we will provide an arrival window and an estimated on-site duration dependent on your menu and portions. For our 3 meals package, we spend an average of 4-6 hours total in your home.
For private dinners–Dependent on your menu or service, we will arrive a few hours before your event start time. We’ll stay for the duration of your event (limited to 120 minutes) and leave after cleaning up (usually 1-2 hours after your event). -
All travel beyond a 30 minute/15 mile radius from Washington DC is subject to a travel fee.
For meal preparations–our travel is limited to within this radius
For private dining–if travel fee, transportation and accommodation is covered, there’s no place we aren’t open to.
In case you need a suggestion, we cook best beside international beaches :)
-
Because of the time , preparation, and opportunity cost required to deliver any single private dinner whether it’s for 2 or for 10, we have a non-negotiable event minimum of $900.
If you would still prefer a special dinner for two, we would happily increase your starting package to a five-course dinner or the equivalent to further elevate your experience. -
We don’t lock you into any length of term contract. We want to cook for you as long as you’re happy for us to. We believe food tastes and feels good when care, gratitude, and relationship are present, so we strive to cultivate that intentionality always.
For reserved weekly recurring sessions–we only ask that you submit payment at the start of every five sessions. We’ll then hold that weekly timeslot for you indefinitely, or if you ask us to stop.
-
A minimum 50% nonrefundable retainer of the service quote is required to hold your service day. The full payment (including grocery retainer) is due 7 days prior to the service day. Any remainder payment is required by the completion of service.
-
We collect an estimated grocery retainer when we collect your service payment. This retainer is spent down as your chef shops for your menu. All expenses are tracked and transparent to you. Any difference will rolled over for recurring services and balanced out at the closing of your account via a final invoice or retainer refund.
-
We work as a close-knit team of chefs and operators, collaborating always to provide you with the best possible experience.
After your consultation, we consider your taste preferences, event vision, and scheduling availabilities before deciding which of our chefs will lead your menu. And because we aim always to refine with time, your chef will continue with you except in extenuating circumstances.
Meet your future chefs here.
